The Village of Dryden, home to Maple Ridge, is located in the northeastern part of Tompkins County in New York's beautiful Finger Lakes Region. It is a large rural county which was divided into tracts and then parceled out to Revolutionary War soldiers. Settled first by Iroquois Indians, Amos Sweet was the first white settler in 1797. Dryden is named after poet John Dryden.
